I am an Art Director and I am lucky enough to work from home. I absolutely love working from home – I get to eat food from my fridge, stay in my comfies, and snuggle my kitties any time I want during the day. It’s the best!
The only thing that I struggle with is how sedentary my day to day naturally is. My work takes all my attention, so hours and hours pass while I sit at my computer, craning my neck and the screen. Sometimes I go hours without moving or drinking water. Then I wonder why I have a cracking headache!
I know getting steps in is incredibly good for your short and long-term health. A quick Google search proves the numerous unequivocal health benefits of walking daily (source: Harvard Health Publishing):
- Counteracts the effects of weight-promoting genes.
- Helps tame a sweet tooth.
- Reduces the risk of developing breast cancer.
- Eases joint pain.
- Boosts immune function.
Despite this, I have the hardest time motivating myself to get more than 3,000 steps.
